A stuttering smile curved her lips. “You didn’t,” she whispered back. “My heart is so full of what you shared with me. I don’t want you to leave me, yet I know you must. Eventually.”

“Don’t think of it now. Sleep. ”

The soft breeze of his essence soothed her, his scent lingered and calmed her. He was a spirit without substance, yet she felt secure in the knowledge of his ethereal presence. She fell into her dreams as the dark night swallowed her completely.
